What would
George like to find in his stocking on Christmas morning if he were human?! That’s the question we’ve put to him this
week and as ever, he’s certainly got sophisticated taste with a little treat
from the luxury brand, Creed, topping his Christmas list! And, in the county of Cumbria, Abrahams is the

The annual
two-day Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fair is all set for this weekend! The Grand event will see locals and visitors
enjoy festive shopping, food and drink. Father
Christmas and his helpers are led through the town by a brass band, switching
on all the Christmas lights, as if by magic!
On Saturday,
Santa's Grotto will also be in the Market Square in Kirkby Lonsdale, where
there will be a small fair for the children, in addition to stalls and street
entertainment. On Sunday, you will be
able to view all the different interpretations of Father Christmas. It's a truly wonderful weekend of Christmas
fun for all the family!
 Of course, Abrahams
will be at the heart of the celebrations, placed on Market Square in the very
centre of the town, we will be able to join in all the fun! In the shop, we have been busily decorating

Our new
puppy George has certainly got an eye for the elegant and has been taking a
good look around the store for his next recommendation in the countdown to
Christmas. As usual, Abrahams have come
up with a very unique product, ideal for the perfect stocking filler.
 New in-store
are these fabulous men’s cotton handkerchief’s from British company, Spencer
Bryson. The business was established in
1891, and today, over 115 years later, they remain the UK market leader in
cotton and linen handkerchiefs, as well as exporting around the world.
Priced at
only £2 each, it’s a small price to pay for an accessory as beautiful as this and as you
can imagine, interest is high! Not only
are these wonderful for use as handkerchiefs, but also for neckerchiefs, with
one of our customers actually buying one as a neckerchief for her dog!
It’s little
wonder therefore, that George selected these as his ‘recommendation of the week’. I suspect there might just be a Spencer Bryson
gift in his stocking this Christmas!

A little
effort goes a long way and it’s the small things that make a big
difference. Here at Abrahams, we are
continuously championing the value of good customer service and it’s one of our
greatest qualities.
 So, for
those of you who aren’t aware, we provide a free gift-wrapping service
throughout the year, not just for Christmas.
It’s one of the little extra’s that we are happy to provide for our
customers.
However, for
this service and for those who would like
to, we happily and gratefully accept any small donations to a UK based charity
very close to our hearts – ‘New Beginnings’, aimed at providing food, shelter
and safety for orphans and street children in the Ukraine.
Now, that
would make a very big difference.
It has been
reported that the procession of the Olympic torch has been delayed by a
significant stop-off in the beautiful and historic village of Kirkby Lonsdale.
According to
local witnesses, the Abraham’s half-price sale, which began on Saturday 21st
July, appeared to be the cause of the interruption in proceedings, with the
torch bearer unable to resist the lure of a bargain.
With savings
of more than 50% on all clothing and accessories*, the Abraham’s sale has been
a firm fixture in the calendar of their discerning clientele for more than a
decade, and is a favourite for those who appreciate products that are
beautifully made and classically designed.
“We were surprised
that the torch-bearer was able to carry the torch under the weight of so many
bags of goodies” said a local by-stander.

Our gorgeous four legged friend, Daisy, a Lancashire-Heeler cross, visited Abraham’s recently and found difficulty in choosing a favourite from our extensive range.
